Time Off

>> Monday, April 27, 2009

Okay... so I have a week or so off before I need to get going on my Major Research Project... papers are done, marks are submitted, ~stuff~ is done.

I SO do not do this off thing well.... I find it more exhausting than being constantly busy, I think.

Think I'm going to haul out my YA novel and try to get back to work on that tomorrow... and will keep working on trying to organize my mess of books.

Or maybe I'll start in on the MRP after all. But then if I get THAT all done, what AM I going to do with the rest of my summer?

Time to get writing I think!

I think I can train
Another essay done and handed in - not until about 6:30 this morning, but it is done. It SUCKS...but it's done.

Now onward - first finishing up my proposal re: my Major Research Paper so that I can get that sent off to my advisor and then there will be just one more to do (and about 20 essays to mark) before Thursday.

Still bunches - but I'm into the home stretch.

I think I can I think I can I think I can....

Well no, I always think that I can't possibly ... but I do it anyway.

I could not possibly be here, seeing as how I am only on page 10 of a 20 page essay that needs to be done before I go to bed tonight...

I would NEVER be so irresponsible as to write a blog when I have such a nasty deadline approaching; I am, of course, far too responsible for that.

So anyway, while I am not here, can I just tell you how very FRUSTRATED I am with my database students right now?

WHO gets all the way to the end of a 14 week course and then just decides not to hand in their final assignment or show up for the last test? How ******* stOOpid do you have to be?

And worse yet, WHO sends in a database without making sure that the forms and stuff work? Or, if a week after the deadline sees that they STILL don't have a mark and that there is a big ol' announcement posted there saying that if you don't have a mark there is a problem; email me! - doesn't bother to follow that up?

I have a 9 students that fit into either of these 2 categories!!! I have sent out emails, posted announcements, etc... and apparently none of them can be bothered to check their email or respond and I am, I may have mentioned, FRUSTRATED AS HELL with all of them!

Weekly Update

So far so good! I have been able to meet my goal of posting a daily article on both Flitting on Fiction and Back to School for Grownups... and to drop my daily 300 Entrecards as well.

On Flitting on Fiction, articles include

Back to School for Grownups
has mostly been about

Have not got to flitting.org....will try to get an update about our ongoing difficulties with TD CanadaTrust up there sometime this weekend, though.

Another new blog that you might be interested is Ask Me Anything, which is Stephanie, the rocket scientist's latest .... well worth a visit.

Also, if you happen to be a grad student ... or might want to be one someday, why not stop by The Grad Cafe? I'm really enjoying the interaction there...and learning a lot about universities in the US in the process, which I think will help me to do a better job of Back to School for Grownups.
